Master
Rev. Soke Kyoshi Vincent Sciortino, studied Ju-Jitsu in England during his
stay between 1981-1988, under 6th Dan and 9th Dan Black Belts, where he was
graded from white to 5th Dan Black Belt in Ju-Jitsu, 1st Dan Judo and Ko-Budo
and graded as instructor in Ko-Budo in 1986.
All his grades are recognized world-wide, even in Japan.
In 1986, Master Sciortino had sessions with Soke Reushi Hayabuchi and Soke
Munetoshi Inue. After 6 months in Malta, he went back to England for sessions
with Soke Famon Tanaka, of the Nipon Koden Kobudo. He achieved certificates
from the Nippon Dai Budo Kai, Nippon Hontai, Yoshin Ryu Dai, Nippon Keitenshiya
Ryu, Joko Ryu, Goshin Kempo Ju-Jitsu Association, World Ju-Jitsu Federation
and Jikishin Ju-Jitsu Association.
Master Sciortino also attained the certificate for the grade of coach from
the British Ju-Jitsu Association (B.J.J.A.) which is the British Governing
body for Ju-Jitsu. He is member of the Jikishin Ju-Jitsu Association, representative
of the United Nations of Ju-Jitsu (U.N.J.J.) and the World Sports Ju-Jitsu
Organization. Fr. Sciortino has now more then 35 years of experience in Martial
Arts.
Two months after his arrival in Malta in 1988, Master Vincent founded the
Ju-Jitsu Association Malta, known as the Samurai Ju-Jitsu Association Malta
(S.J.J.A.M.). He now holds a 7th Dan Black Belt in Ju-Jitsu and has given
training to various coaches in Malta and has clubs in Hamrun / Marsa, Zurrieq,
St. Paul's Bay and others.
He pays special tribute to Professor Terry C. Parker and all the members of
the U.N.J.J. and the S.J.J.A.M.

Renshi 2 years after Godam (5th Dan)
Kyoshi 5 years after Renshi
Henshi 10 years after Kyoshi
These titles are very close to the traditional Japanese arts.
