Dojo Etiquette
When entering and leaving a dojo the word Osu is said loudly
and is accompanied by the bow.The correct titles should be used to address your
instructors and seniors. These are:

Osu: The word Osu in its basic translation means 'to endure'.
It is a word which expresses a greeting and replaces words such as: 'yes', 'I
will do it' and 'excuse me'.
Kiai: The Kiai in its basic form is a shout used to emphasise
and develop courage, character, power, endurance and breathing.
